The second of two studies in defending the Catholic faith. Where Unless Someone Guides Me takes up authority, this one takes up what the Church actually holds. It assumes no formal study, it does not run out of depth, and it can be run on its own. Seven core sessions move from the hard saying at Capernaum, where the hearers object aloud and our Lord sharpens the language rather than softening it, to the sacrifice, grace and the covenant family, justification, faith working through love, the two sets of texts behind the question of whether the saved can fall away, and finally the command that gives the study its name. Five stand-alone modules take up Mary; saints, statues, and the charge of idolatry; purgatory and the last things; baptism; and confession. Every session runs on three levels, marked in the text, so the newest person in the room and the one who has read Denzinger both leave fed. Leader guides and take-home sheets for every session and module.
