A study for Catholics who already know more Scripture than they think. The Word is proclaimed at every Mass, and most of it is familiar long before anyone sits down to study it. What is often missing is the book itself: how to open it and find a passage, how the parts hold together, and how it came to be one book at all. It assumes no formal study and it does not run out of depth: a person can come in knowing Scripture only by ear and leave able to explain where the Bible came from and who has the authority to say what it means. Six core sessions run from the Ethiopian official who could not read Isaiah without a guide, to the Word that came before the book, the Church Christ actually built, the power to bind and loose, the way the apostles themselves read the Old Testament, and the manner Peter commands, with gentleness and reverence. Three stand-alone modules go further: Peter and the Keys takes up the papacy, including the hard history; The Seven Books takes up the deuterocanon; and The One-Liners drills the short objections that arrive without warning. Every session runs on three levels, marked in the text, so the newest person in the room and the one who has read Denzinger both leave fed.
