The Works of God

A Catholic Journey Through the Book of Tobit
“It is good to guard the secret of a king, but gloriously to reveal the works of God.” · Tobit 12:7

A twelve-session inductive study of the book of Tobit for young adults. Two faithful sufferers, a blind father in exile and a grieving young woman, pray for death on the same day, and heaven answers both at once. The archangel Raphael walks the road in disguise, a fish yields its medicine, a marriage is made in heaven, and the works of God are revealed at last. This is providence read the way the Church reads it: mercy hidden inside ordinary events. Leader guides and take-home sheets for every session.

The Works of God runs 12 sessions. Every session comes with a complete leader's preparation guide and a printable take-home sheet for the people in the room, and the full text of each night can be read on a phone from the list below. All of it is free to download, print, and share, with no sign up and no cost.

Hosting this study

You do not need to be a theologian to lead The Works of God. The leader's guide carries the questions, the answers, and the background, so the group can discover the text together. There is a short guide to hosting a Bible study if this is your first one, and a set of six questions that will help you choose a study if you are still deciding.
